Koh Phi Phi Hostels

Alena Dorm Room

Price starting at $21

A dorm-room style hostel in a central location, whose lime-green, bubble-gum pink and robin’s-egg blue walls will draw you in while the friendly hostel manager will keep you coming back. Many a traveler will see the friendliness, attentiveness and care of the manager here as a rare attribute of a Phi Phi hostel. Rooms have up to 20 bunk-style beds in them, safes, wi-fi, and air conditioning. The three shared bathrooms also have the luxury of hot showers.

A few minutes of walking will bring you to the beaches and the action. This makes you close enough to partake in all of the fun, while still having a quieter place to rest your head at the end of the day.

Blanco Dorm Room

Prices starting at $17

It’s rare to find a hostel with a great beach view, but this one’s got it! Right in front of the hostel is a picture perfect view of the sparkling Andaman sea and limestone cliffs. Relax and enjoy this view on their large deck and lounge area, or enjoy some food from their restaurant. By night, you will have the opportunity to enjoy Blanco’s many pre-party activities, such as their infamous “Sexy Jenga” or the “Sixty Shot Challenge”. You’ll be sure to make a friend or two here.

The hostel grounds have a relaxed beach vibe, and inside the rooms are basic dorm-style bunk beds. They provide fans, and electrical outlets and small safe-deposit boxes near every bed. You won’t escape the party at this hostel, as the loud music from the bars will follow you home to bed – which isn’t a bad thing if you’re here to enjoy the night life.

Stone’s Bar Dorm Rooms

Prices starting at $32

If you want to eat, sleep, and breathe the party life, this is the place for you. This hostel is located right on Loh Dalum Beach, in the heart of the beach parties. There is an on-site bar right outside your front door, which excites its guests with nightly fire shows.

The rooms have simple, white bunk beds with safe deposit boxes, wi-fi, and air-conditioning. They also boast the luxury of having hot showers. This is a great hostel if you want to meet new people with the same desire to explore the beach party scene, scoff at going to bed before 3am, and are accepting of a little beach sand in your room.

The Rock Backpacker Hostel

Prices starting at $12

Known as “backpacker central”, this may also be one of the least expensive hostels on Koh Phi Phi. This is a budget hostel for people whose main objective is to enjoy the party scene, and meet other travelers. The Rock is in a central location, right around the corner from the bars, which also means dancing to the music in your room until the wee hours.

Rooms are dorm-style with graffiti-decorated walls, but there are also private rooms located on higher floors that have the unexpected bonus of a fabulous view over the island and beaches. Bathrooms are shared and do not have hot water (not completely necessary in the heat of Thailand), and the mattresses are known to be “firm.” This is a great hostel if you’re on Koh Phi Phi to meet great new people and save your money for some of the many experiences of a lifetime in Thailand, or a beer.

Golden Hill Bungalows

Prices starting at $15

These are fun, bungalow-style rooms with a jungle vibe off the beaten path. If you don’t mind a 10 minute walk to the action, this is a great way to enjoy the night life while still getting a good night’s sleep. They offer a choice of en-suite rooms with balconies, and dorm-style rooms. Air-conditioning is available.

This hostel has the added amenity of a small pool with swim-up bar, great for relaxing after a big night out and meeting your fellow travelers, or for a pre-party. An added bonus is their cheap cocktails, perfect for sipping in the sun on a pool-side lounge chair. If you don’t mind working your quadriceps to get up the hill to this hostel, this is a good choice for a social atmosphere where you can still sleep sans the party-music lullaby.
